On June 12, 2023, the 18th International Conference on Electrorheological Fluids and Magnetorheological Suspensions (ERMR2023), hosted by Chongqing University, co-organized by the University of Science and Technology of China and Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, co-organized by the School of Optoelectronic Engineering of Chongqing University, the Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Technology and Systems, Ministry of Education, and the Rheology Committee of the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, was successfully concluded at the Kingworld Hotel Chongqing.
The conference lasted for four days and received a total of 185 articles, divided into 16 topics, 10 plenary reports, more than 80 oral presentations, and more than 40 poster presentations. Over 200 experts and scholars from nearly 20 countries and regions shared their latest research findings and advancements in the field of electroheological fluids and magnetorheological suspensions, exploring the application prospects of smart materials and structures. Conference papers will be recommended for publication in the Journal of Intelligent Material Systems, Smart Materials and Structures, and Modern Physics Letter B after a rigorous peer-review process.
Professor Miao Yu, the executive chairman of the conference and director of the Magnetorheological Research Center of the School of Optoelectronic Engineering at Chongqing University, delivered an enthusiastic closing speech. He expressed his gratitude to the participating experts and scholars for their active participation, and reviewed the important topics and academic achievements of the conference.
